The largest consumption in the industrial sector is related to the petrochemical sector with about 14.8 billion cubic meters. Natural gas in petrochemical complexes is mainly used in two applications. The first use of natural gas in the petrochemical industry is the use of feed, which occurs only in urea and methanol production complexes. In 1392, 6.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas was used as food in these two types of complexes, which is equivalent to 40% of the total natural gas used in this industry. The second use of natural gas in the petrochemical industry, which is prevalent among all types of petrochemical complexes, is the use of fuel. In 1392, 8.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas was used as fuel in all petrochemical complexes in the country, which is equivalent to 60% of the total natural gas used in this industry.
